Job summary

VANRATH are recruiting a Senior Management Accountant for a large national employer in Greater Belfast on a temporary to permanent basis. An immediate interview is available, with a 6-month contract leading to permanent employment and a hybrid working model.

The role requires a Qualified Accountant with 5+ years in management accounting, strong technical finance knowledge, and a proactive, improvement-driven mindset to support the Senior Leadership Team with timely, insightful reporting.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of financial processes, controls and reporting frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary for senior management.
• Management of month-end processes, including support for balance sheet reconciliations and accounting controls.
• Management of internal recharges, accruals and prepayments, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Production of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with operational & finance teams.
• Delivery of variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast) with clear insights and recommendations.
• Monitoring and review of current accounting systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Management Accountant will play a key role in within the finance function, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial information to the Senior Leadership Team.
