Interim Finance Manager

Job summary

VanRath is partnering with a Belfast City Centre hospitality business to recruit an experienced Finance Manager who can take ownership of the finance function and provide commercial support to the management team.

Initially offered on a temporary basis with a view to permanency, the role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, strong management accounts, budgeting and control experience, and availability to start immediately in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in Finance Manager, Financial Controller or senior finance positions.
• Strong understanding of management accounts, budgeting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function across the business.
• Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking and transactional finance activities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and provide meaningful financial analysis.
• Monitor revenue, costs, margins and overall business performance.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes.
• Work closely with operational managers to improve financial performance and cost control.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure accurate financial records.
• Support payroll, VAT and other statutory financial requirements.
• Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and efficiency across the finance function.

About you

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or senior finance position
• Strong understanding of management accounts, budgeting and financial reporting
• Experience managing financial controls and transactional finance processes
• Commercially aware with the ability to work closely with operational and senior management
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Available to commence at short notice
