Job summary

VANRATH is seeking a Finance professional with management accounting experience for a 15-month contract in Belfast. The role offers hybrid working patterns and immediate start.

You will join a high-performing finance team reporting to the Financial Controller and focus on month-end close, reporting, and commercial partnering. Essential qualifications include ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, strong analytical skills, and the ability to liaise with non-finance staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with accurate reporting.

• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support budgeting and forecasting including reforecasts.
• Provide variance analysis with commentary on key movements.
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight.

The Management Accountant will join an established finance team who are renowned for their high performance, to be considered for this role it is essential to have previous experience in a similar role.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the management accounting function of an assigned business unit. You will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure completion of month end accounts, in line with agreed timelines.

Initially this is a 15-month contract role, however, depending on performance, there could be an opportunity to secure a permanent contract.

What you'll do

• Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Lead key elements of the month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including regular reforecasts
• Produce variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods, providing commentary on key movements
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and challenge
