Job summary

Downey Osborne has partnered with a growing Belfast business to recruit a Management Accountant. You will work with the Finance Manager, gaining broad exposure across the finance function and playing a key role in delivering accurate financial information for business decisions.

The role offers £35,000–£40,000 dependent on experience, 28 days of annual leave, a company pension, and study support. Working Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with on-site parking in Belfast.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely financial information
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
• Work collaboratively with the wider finance team
• Take ownership of your workload
• Look for ways to improve processes and support the wider business
• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
• Post journals and complete balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce sales reports and management scorecards
• Monitor stock control and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with payroll and VAT returns
• Manage credit control and bank administration
• Complete weekly cost analysis

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• At least 12 months' experience in a finance or office administration role
• AAT/ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualification, newly qualified or currently studying towards
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good communication and IT skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• A proactive and organised approach
• The ability to work well as part of a team
• Previous experience within food distribution or a similar environment would be advantageous
