Job summary

A multinational engineering company is seeking an Instrument Engineer on a contract basis for 12 months in Aberdeen, UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering input for project work scopes, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and resolving technical queries. Candidates should have a strong background in field instrumentation and be able to conduct site surveys. This opportunity is open to limited companies and is outside IR35 regulations.

Job description

Petrofac is seeking an Instrument Engineer 3 - Contractor for 12 months based in Aberdeen, UK.

The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.

Scope of Services

• Provide engineering input to estimates for project work scopes
• Provide input to progress and planning meetings
• Provide technical expertise to specify modifications to existing equipment or purchasing new equipment including but not limited to:
• • DCS, ESD F&G and Metering system modifications
  • Field Instrumentation including Pressure, Level, Temperature, Flow and Specialist Measurements
  • Valves
  • SIL, High Integrity Systems (HIPPS)
  • Measurement and Metering
  • Industrial Networking and Communications
• Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
• To be able to conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets
• To be able to produce calculations required for the role and participate in design reviews
• Provide checking and approval of disciplined documents; complete interdisciplinary checking of documents where necessary
• Production of disciplined documentation deliverables for inclusion in work packs
• Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
• Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
• Control system philosophy and Software scopes of Work

• Preparation & Issue of Survey Reports
• Instrument and I/O Schedules
• Orifice Plate / Valve / IS / Cable and General Calculations
