Job summary

GE Vernova in Stafford, United Kingdom, seeks a Senior Project Engineering Manager to lead the engineering execution of complex HVDC EPC projects. You will oversee and coordinate a diverse, international team to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of engineering scopes on high-impact HVDC substations.

You will be part of the HVDC Solution Line and report to the UK PEM team leader, collaborating with global teams and contributing to the energy transition through cutting-edge HVDC technology

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Power Systems, or related field.
• Experience as Project Engineering Manager or similar in EPC environments.
• Delivered 2 projects ranging from 100M$ to 500M$+.
• Strong PM skills coordinating multidisciplinary teams across international environments.
• Excellent communication and leadership, fluent in English.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of HVDC scope on large EPC projects.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Act as technical lead, manage interfaces across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, customers.
• Maintain effective communication with customers, partners and suppliers on technical topics.
• Manage risks with a risk register and change control process.
• Ensure high quality and compliance with safety requirements.
• Represent engineering in project governance with progress reporting.
• Support site teams during design to construction transition.
• Mentor and empower project engineers to foster accountability and collaboration.
• Conduct regular progress reviews of HVDC scope including time, cost, quality and risk.
