Job summary

GE Vernova in Stafford, UK, is seeking a Senior Project Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution of large HVDC EPC projects. You will drive cross-functional teams across disciplines, manage risk, change control, and ensure schedule, cost and quality targets are met for high-impact substations.

Role involves international interfaces, leadership, and regular reporting on KPIs, while mentoring engineers and supporting site transitions from design to construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Power Systems or related field.
• 2+ delivered EPC projects in energy, transmission or heavy infrastructure.
• Strong project management, risk, interfaces and change control experience.
• Fluent in English and able to work across international teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of HVDC Solution Line engineering activities on large EPC projects.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across milestones.
• Act as technical lead, managing interfaces with procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Establish clear communication with customers, partners and suppliers on technical topics.
• Maintain risk register, drive mitigation plans and change management processes.
• Ensure quality, safety (EHS) compliance and governance with KPIs and progress reporting.
• Support site teams during execution and transition from design to construction.
• Mentor project engineers and foster accountability and continuous improvement.
