Job summary

GE Vernova in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Primary Design Engineer to lead HV/EHV substation design and delivery, coordinating with global teams to meet milestones and quality standards. You will develop and review integrated 3D models, GA drawings, and layouts, while reviewing vendor docs to assure alignment with requirements and timelines.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and ensuring CDM 2015 compliance and safety governance

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Power/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong experience in HV substation design.
• 3+ years of strong technical experience encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of UK Transmission and Distribution standards.
• Proficiency in CAD; BIM/3D tools (Revit, Navisworks) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design & deliver primary plant designs for HV/EHV substations (AIS, GIS, HVDC).
• Develop and review a fully integrated 3D model, GA drawings, section layouts.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure alignment with project needs.
• Lead and coordinate remote global engineering teams and mentor juniors.
• Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and safety/quality governance.
