Job summary

SSEN Transmission is recruiting for HVDC Project Engineering roles at professional and senior levels as part of the Pathway to 2030 programme. Roles are based from Scottish locations (Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness) with permanent, full-time contracts and Flexible First options.

You will drive technical excellence across AC/DC cable projects, collaborating with EPC teams and environmental/land consenting colleagues.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
• HVDC or HVAC transmission cable project experience is desirable.
• Experience with EPC contracts and CDM regulations.
• Knowledge of industry standards and safe design practices.
• Strong communication, time management and organisational skills; mentoring capability.

Responsibilities

• Support FEED activities such as options assessment and route development.
• Promote safety-in-design and fulfil CDM duties for the Designer/Principal Designer roles.
• Review contractor deliverables for compliance with Employer's requirements and safety standards.
• Supervise installation and commissioning works to meet Employer's requirements and legislation.
• Mentor junior engineers and support trainees within the team.
• Provide technical leadership and drive excellence within the HVDC Project Engineering team.
• Lead analytical studies and resolve complex problems.
