Job summary

At AECOM, we seek a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to shape HV substation design across a varied portfolio in the UK or Ireland. You will develop plant layouts, specify HV equipment, and contribute to infrastructure projects from concept to energisation.

Applicants should have a degree in Electrical Engineering, proven HV project experience, and the ability to work flexibly across multiple projects. English fluency and a driving license are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience on HV projects.
• Experience with major utilities or developers.
• Experience as a designer or project engineer.
• Experience developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS and AIS switchgear.
• Full driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations.
• Produce equipment specifications for HV plant and associated equipment.
• Provide engineering design input to major infrastructure projects.
• Undertake an Owners' Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects.
• Provide HV design input to renewable energy projects (battery storage, solar, hydro, wind).
• Provide professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas.
• Drive excellence.
