Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our UK or Ireland team. You will design HV substations, develop specifications for equipment and control systems, and provide engineering input to major infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK and abroad.

You will lead electrical design delivery on HV substation and transmission projects, acting as Owners' Engineer, and contributing to renewable energy initiatives including battery storage, solar, hydro and wind

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience on HV projects
Experience with major utilities or developers
Experience as a designer or project engineer
Experience developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS and AIS switchgear
Ability to work across multiple projects
Fluency in English
Experience in technical report writing
Full driving license and access to a personal vehicle for site visits
Ideally Chartered or working toward status
Ideally consultancy experience
Ideally experience reviewing detailed designs & witnessing construction

Responsibilities

Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations
Produce equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment
Provide engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
Undertake an Owners' Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
Provide HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation
Provide professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas Ready to push the limits of what's possible?
