Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer for UK or Ireland base with a strong HV background. The role focuses on HV substations, protection and control, and drawing on project engineering skills for major infrastructure work.

You will contribute to renewable energy projects and large-scale grid programs while engaging with clients across Ireland, the UK and beyond. The position requires driving, flexibility, and delivering robust technical input throughout project

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering
HV projects experience
Experience with utilities or developers
Experience as designer or project engineer
Experience developing specifications for substations, transformers, GIS, and AIS
Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
Fluency in English
Experience in technical report writing

Responsibilities

Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations
Produce equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment
Provide engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
Undertake an Owners' Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
Provide HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation
Provide professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas Ready to push the limits of what's possible?
