Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Principal Protection Design Interface Engineer to join our Energy Transmission & Distribution team. The role focuses on coordinating secondary systems inside HV substations, ensuring protection, control, and communication interfaces meet project and regulatory standards.

You will engage with clients and internal teams across multiple UK locations, travel for site surveys, and contribute to design optimization and innovation while upholding quality and schedule

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary system design within HV power industry.
• Strong knowledge of protection and control concepts and schemes.
• Ability to coordinate design interfaces across teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with primary design engineers and project managers to develop secondary system designs.
• Prepare interface diagrams, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and client requirements.
• Travel for site surveys and inspections as needed.
