Job summary

Cowi seeks a Senior Engineer to join our growing Highways Design team. The role involves collaborating on geometric and road design across UK schemes and supporting access road projects. You will work with peers to deliver high-quality highway designs and contribute to project success.

Key activities include delivering geometrical layouts, leading junior engineers, and ensuring design checks. A UK highways background and familiarity with DMRB and Civil3D are essential.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
• Experience in UK highways design environments.
• Demonstrable skills in the Design Manual for Roads and Bridge (DMRB).
• Experience with Civil3D and Autodesk products.
• Sound understanding of CDM Regulations.
• Preferable experience with ProjectWise.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and participating in the production and delivery of the geometrical design.
• Checking design and drawings prepared by other engineers.
• Carrying out traffic signs and road markings design.
• Carrying out RRRAP assessments.
• Defining Road Safety Audit briefs and responses.
• Providing technical leadership to junior engineers.
