Job summary

Haskoning UK is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to lead the delivery of highway and infrastructure design projects within the Integrated Transport Planning team. You will guide projects from concept through detailed design stages for ITP clients in a multi-disciplinary environment.

The role emphasizes 3D Civil 3D design, BIM/CDE workflows, and mentoring engineers, with a strong focus on standards, safety and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering highway/infrastructure design projects to local authority standards.
• Experience from concept design to detailed construction-ready designs.
• Chartered Engineer status desirable; CIHT/ICE membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide clients through concept, planning and preliminary design stages to ensure feasible, sustainable outcomes.
• Advise on design standards, environmental concerns and stakeholder needs for precision layouts.
• Develop concepts into construction-ready designs meeting safety, efficiency and compliance.
• Prepare drainage designs, profiles and schedules for tender and construction.
• Provide leadership, oversight and clear communication across project teams.
• Conduct road safety audits and recommend improvements to reduce risk.
