Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects in Manchester. You will drive technical excellence, oversee ground models and investigations, and mentor engineers within a dynamic team.

You will manage delivery, supervision of ground investigations, and client relationships, while supporting bids and pursuing growth opportunities across sectors.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology.
• Experience delivering complex geotechnical projects with leadership responsibilities.
• Chartered status or progression towards chartership with a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects.
• Lead development of ground models, assessments, and design deliverables.
• Undertake and review advanced geotechnical analyses for foundations and earthworks.
• Manage project delivery including programme, costs, QA and risk.
• Lead client relationships and support business development.
• Direct planning and management of ground investigations and data interpretation.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and career development.
• Support bidding and tender submissions with methodologies and resources.
