Job summary

WSP in Manchester is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects. You will drive ground model development, perform advanced analyses, and steer technical delivery across a diverse portfolio.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and contribute to bidding and strategy. The role offers hybrid working across UK offices and the chance to shape major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in geotechnical engineering and ground risk management.
• Chartered status with ICE or Geological Society, or progress toward chartership.
• Experience leading complex geotechnical design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on complex geotechnical projects.
• Lead ground investigations planning and data interpretation.
• Manage project delivery including programme, budget and QA.
• Mentor engineers and support business development.
