Job summary

WSP in Leeds is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead delivery of complex geotechnical projects and ground investigations. You will develop ground models, supervise multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client relationships throughout major infrastructure schemes.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to bids, and champion innovation, sustainability and digital delivery within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Strong technical understanding of geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, ground risk and site investigation.
• Proven experience delivering geotechnical assessments, designs and project management in consultancy, contractor or client settings.
• Solid knowledge of soil/rock mechanics, geotechnical analysis and design to industry standards.
• Experience leading project tasks and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of technically complex geotechnical projects with quality, programme and commercial focus.
• Develop and review ground models, geotechnical interpretation and design parameters for major schemes.
• Perform and review geotechnical analyses for slopes, foundations, earthworks and geohazards.
• Manage projects, resources, financial performance and client satisfaction.
• Serve as client contact, build relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Design, procure and manage ground investigations and oversee site activities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and geologists.
