Job summary

WSP in Leeds seeks a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead and deliver complex geotechnical projects. You will drive ground modelling, design solutions and technical deliverables while mentoring engineers and supporting client relationships across major infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in geotechnical engineering and ground risk management.
• Proven experience leading geotechnical design across sectors.
• Chartered status or progress toward chartership.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on complex geotechnical projects from concept to delivery.
• Lead development of ground models, assessments and deliverables.
• Oversee advanced analysis for foundations, earthworks and slopes.
• Manage project delivery including programme, budget and QA risks.
• Lead client relationships and support business development.
• Direct ground investigation planning and data interpretation.
• Provide mentoring and career development for engineers.
• Support bidding and tender submissions with methodologies and fees.
• Promote innovation, sustainability and digital delivery.
• Collaborate across disciplines for integrated infrastructure solutions.
