Job summary

WSP in Southampton is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects. You will develop ground models, assess geotechnical design solutions and oversee investigations, aiming for delivery excellence across a diverse project portfolio.

You will mentor engineers, manage project risks and contribute to business development while collaborating with senior leaders to grow the geotechnical business within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and ground risk management.
• Experience delivering complex geotechnical projects across sectors.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects.
• Lead development of ground models, assessments and design solutions.
• Manage project delivery including programme, quality and risk management.
• Lead client relationships and support business development.
• Oversee ground investigation planning and data interpretation.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and career development.
