Senior Garment Technologist - Womenswear | Multi-Product Supplier

Are you an experienced Senior Garment Technologist looking to advance your career? Our client, a leading multi-product womenswear supplier to major UK retailers and supermarkets, is seeking a skilled and proactive technologist to join their expanding technical team.

In this role, you will report directly to the Technical Manager and take a key position in overseeing product development, supporting junior technologists, and ensuring all garments meet strict standards of fit, quality and construction. Experience working with Bangladeshi factories is essential, as you will communicate with offshore teams daily and travel when required.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the technical process across multi-product womenswear, supporting the Technical Manager in delivering high-quality garments.
• Manage, mentor and support junior garment technologists, ensuring consistency, accuracy and strong technical standards.
• Attend and lead fit sessions with customers, offering expert guidance on fit, make and construction.
• Create and update detailed tech packs, specifications, measurement charts and construction information.
• Communicate accurate, detailed fit comments to offshore factories, particularly in Bangladesh.
• Work collaboratively with design, sampling, merchandising and sales teams.
• Maintain strong working relationships with technical teams across UK high‑street and supermarket accounts.
• Prepare production specifications and ensure all requirements are understood and followed throughout the critical path.

Person Specification

• Proven experience as a Senior Garment Technologist within a high-volume womenswear supplier (multi-product experience desirable).
• Strong experience working with UK high‑street retailers and supermarket accounts.
• Essential: hands‑on experience working with factories in Bangladesh and understanding of offshore production processes.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
• Confident producing clear, concise technical comments for factory teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, fit, quality and production methods.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members is highly advantageous.
