Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to undertake high‑level fire safety design work within and outside the UK, primarily consultancy reviews and guidance for buildings and rail projects. You will lead fire safety projects, mentor juniors and coordinate with clients, architects and contractors to deliver compliant solutions.

The role requires robust knowledge of UK regulations (AD B, BS standards) and experience across sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire safety engineering across sectors.
• Ability to write reports and present findings to clients and internal teams.
• Experience in leading project teams and mentoring juniors.

Responsibilities

• Fire engineering design experience across sectors.
• Support delivery of projects within time and cost budgets.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, project management, contractors and authorities.
• Develop Fire Safety Strategy reports and Means of Escape analyses.
• Assess compliance with UK fire safety regulations and standards (AD B, BS 9999, BS 7974, BS 9991, etc.).
• Stay updated with changes in regulations and legislation.
• Lead fire projects and project teams; assist in bids and fee proposals.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and graduates.
