Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to deliver consultancy-based fire safety work across the built environment, with a focus on buildings and rail projects in the UK. The role involves desktop reviews, fire safety strategy reports, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will work in a client-facing, mid- to senior-level capacity, mentoring junior staff and supporting bids while ensuring compliance with UK regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire safety engineering across a range of building sectors
• Proficient in report writing and client communication
• Ability to work in a large multi-disciplinary environment
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it
• Membership with IFE, CABE, RICS, IET, CIOB or similar

Responsibilities

• Lead fire safety projects and project teams, including senior levels
• Develop Fire Safety Strategy reports for new and existing buildings
• Perform Means of Escape analyses and evacuation strategy planning
• Coordinate with clients, architects, PMs, contractors and authorities
• Mentor and develop junior staff and graduates
• Support bidding processes and fee proposals
• Keep up to date with UK fire safety regulations and standards
• Contribute to fire risk assessments for buildings and rail projects
