Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to support design projects globally, with a focus on desktop reviews and consultancy for building and rail projects. You will lead fire safety projects, develop risk assessments, and mentor junior staff while engaging clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires robust experience in fire safety, strong regulatory understanding (UK standards), and the ability to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality reports.

Qualifications

• Recent demonstrable experience across multiple sectors in technical fire safety engineering.
• Ability to build rapport with clients and external/internal stakeholders.
• Experience writing reports and making presentations to clients and teams.
• Experience in a medium to large multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Fire engineering design work and desktop reviews for design projects.
• Lead fire projects and project teams; mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, project management, contractors and authorities.
• Develop Fire Safety Strategy reports and Means of Escape analyses.
• Support bid development and fee proposals; attend design meetings.
