Job summary

Reed, a leading provider of temporary power solutions, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join the engineering team across the UK. You will serve as a technical escalation point, assisting with fault diagnosis, commissioning, repairs, upgrades and specialist requirements.

This role blends hands-on engineering with mentoring and project support, working across a nationwide depot network and customer sites while upholding safety and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing generator sets.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Electrical systems and LV distribution knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and customers across multiple locations.
• Diagnose and resolve generator, electrical, and control system faults.
• Commission, repair, modify, and upgrade power generation equipment.
• Support the introduction of new equipment and engineering improvements.
• Conduct site surveys, commissioning visits, and technical investigations.
• Assist with engineering training and mentoring activities.
• Support major projects and specialist customer requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
