Job summary

Reed is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair generators and related equipment across customer sites in the South Coast region. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, perform routine servicing, replace components, and contribute to health and safety standards while delivering first-class customer service.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent), field service experience, and a valid

Qualifications

• Qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience servicing generators, diesel engines, or plant equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on generators and equipment.
• Carry out engine, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Replace faulty components and assemblies.
• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Conduct control panel modifications and adjustments.
• Liaise with customers, providing updates and technical support.
• Participate in an on-call rota for breakdown support (1 week in 5).
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Maintain vehicle and workplace standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
