Job summary

Reed seeks an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join its engineering team, providing technical support across a nationwide depot network and client sites. You will diagnose faults, assist with commissioning, repairs, upgrades and act as a technical escalation point.

This role blends hands-on engineering with mentoring, training and project support, ensuring safe, compliant delivery of power generation solutions across the UK.

Qualifications

• Qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Apprenticeship or significant industry experience.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing generator sets.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of LV distribution and changeover systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and customers across multiple locations.
• Diagnose and resolve generator, electrical, and control system faults.
• Commission, repair, modify, and upgrade power generation equipment.
• Support the introduction of new equipment and engineering improvements.
• Conduct site surveys, commissioning visits and technical investigations.
• Assist with engineering training and mentoring activities.
• Support major projects and specialist customer requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
