Job summary

Reed is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer for its South Coast operation. The role focuses on servicing, diagnosing and repairing generators and related equipment at customer sites and company locations.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, carry out repairs, and perform routine servicing while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting or Plant Engineering.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing generators, diesel engines, plant machinery, or related equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience in a field service environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence; towing entitlement advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose and repair generators and related equipment at customer sites and company locations.
• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and fault-find electrical and mechanical issues and replace faulty components.
• Carry out engine, electrical and mechanical repairs and modify control panels as needed.
• Participate in an on-call rota for breakdown support (1 in 5).
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and maintain vehicle and site housekeeping.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality standards.
