Job summary

Reed is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join its growing engineering team, providing specialist technical support across the UK for generator and power generation equipment. You will diagnose faults, assist with commissioning, and mentor team members while supporting major projects.

This role combines hands-on engineering with technical expertise, safety focus, and customer-facing responsibilities in a nationwide depot network and customer sites.

Qualifications

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Great communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider technical team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and customers across multiple locations.
• Diagnose and resolve generator, electrical, and control system faults.
• Commission, repair, modify, and upgrade power generation equipment.
• Support the introduction of new equipment and engineering improvements.
• Conduct site surveys, commissioning visits, and technical investigations.
• Assist with engineering training and mentoring activities.
• Support major projects and specialist customer requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
