Job summary

AtkinsRéalis, a global engineering and nuclear services organisation, is seeking an Associate Director / Estimating Manager to lead the estimating function within the Complex Infrastructure practice. The role covers UK and international markets, delivering high‑level cost advice across infrastructure sectors and growing the client portfolio.

You will direct feasibility through to detailed design estimates, mentor a team and ensure quality, timely outputs, and robust governance across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Estimating, QS, Engineering, Construction or equivalent.
• Chartership with or pursuing RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE or similar.
• Strong understanding of contingency and risk allowances.
• Wider understanding of commercial and contractual requirements and impact on costs.
• Deep knowledge of indirect costs and cost breakdown structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating service delivery from feasibility through detailed design.
• Produce Class 5 to Class 1 estimates.
• Support leadership in bids and proposals to grow the portfolio.
• Develop a high performing team with regional leadership.
• Oversee full take-offs and ensure quality client outputs.
• Author basis-of-estimate reports for Director reviews and client submissions.
• Lead QA and governance processes for client deliverables.
• Lead benchmarking data usage for estimates and market data.
• Coordinate with wider Estimating & Cost Advisory team.
