Senior Estimator - Landscaping and Civil Works

Location: Flexible / Remote (Billericay, Essex or London offices available)

Salary: Competitive

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Join our Landscaping team and work on prestigious, high-profile projects for top-tier clients! In this pivotal role, you’ll drive new business by creating competitive tenders that maximise conversion rates and profit margins.

You’ll turn your expertise into winning estimates, balance technical and practical factors, and support colleagues with pricing insights. With opportunities for on-site involvement, this is a hands‑on role where your impact will be felt across the division.

What you’ll do:
  • Review drawings and specifications to prepare accurate estimates for contract bids, ensuring all plans and documentation are thoroughly analysed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for suppliers, sub‑contractors, estimators, designers, engineers, and architects to gather all necessary information for comprehensive bid submissions.
  • Assess designs for alternative materials and prepare estimates in line with contractor guidelines.
  • Calculate and compile take‑off data efficiently to meet bid deadlines.
  • Adapt to varying workloads and priorities, demonstrating flexibility and strong attention to detail.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of company, client, supplier, and employee information.
  • Apply strong analytical and observational skills to guide decision‑making and bid strategy.
  • Utilise computer software including On‑Screen Take‑off, pricing tools, Word, Excel, and Outlook to streamline the estimating process.
What we’re looking for:
  • Experienced Estimators within the Landscape Construction industry; groundworks or drainage sector experience—particularly sustainable urban drainage—would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong commercial background in bid and tender management across both hard and soft landscaping.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to independently shape well‑structured solutions.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a good working understanding of frameworks, contracts, and risk management.
  • Proven experience in understanding and developing service solutions efficiently.
  • A track record of success in winning and retaining accounts within the service industry.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A hands‑on approach, actively involved in the work without needing to delegate.
