Job summary

Atos in Birmingham is seeking a Senior HR Advisor to provide expert guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters and ensure compliant practices in a complex environment.

You will coach managers through investigations, support casework from enquiry to resolution, and promote early informal resolutions while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an HR or employee relations advisory role with knowledge of UK employment law.
• Strong case management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Strong organizational skills with high confidentiality and professionalism.
• Proficient with HR systems and Microsoft Office tools for record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical advice to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability, absence, and flexible working.
• Manage and support employee relations casework from initial enquiry through to resolution, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and compliance with policy and employment law.
• Coach managers through investigations, formal meetings, hearings, and appeals, including preparation of letters and documentation.
• Promote early informal resolutions and effective conversations, mediation, and problem-solving approaches.
• Interpret and apply employment policies, procedures, and terms and conditions accurately.
• Collaborate with HR colleagues, leaders, trade unions or representatives, occupational health, and external advisers as required.
• Monitor trends, identify risks, and suggest improvements to policy and manager capability.
• Support organizational change activities and employee communications in line with requirements.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and produce reports on activity and trends.
• Contribute to policy development, templates, and training materials.
