Job summary

Mitie is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join our People Team in the UK. The role involves delivering expert ER guidance to managers across a wide range of employment matters, while navigating complex cases with confidence.

You will support investigations, advise on disciplinary and grievance processes, and help managers balance legal compliance with business needs. The position offers hybrid working with a monthly in-office commitment in Birmingham, and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Strong ER experience in a fast-paced, multi-site organisation.
• Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
• Proven experience advising managers on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and Early Conciliation.
• Strong investigation, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risk and recommend appropriate actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert employee relations advice and guidance to managers across a wide range of employment matters.
• Support and coach managers through disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, absence management, ETs, flexible working and conduct-related matters.
• Assess employee relations risks and provide pragmatic recommendations that balance legal compliance with commercial objectives.
• Support investigations into complex employee relations issues, ensuring matters are handled professionally and in accordance with policy.
