Job description

A well-established UK manufacturer is looking for a Senior Electronics Test Engineer to strengthen their test and production function. This is a hands-on role focused on board-level functional testing, fault-finding to component level, and high-precision PCB rework—supporting both quality and throughput in a busy production environment.

The Role
  • You'll be responsible for ensuring electronic products and assemblies are tested, diagnosed and reworked to a consistently high standard
  • Functional testing of board-level products, ensuring test equipment is calibrated, certified and used in line with procedures
  • Fault-finding electronics down to component level to identify root cause and implement fixes
  • Repairing final assemblies and sub-assemblies as required
  • High-accuracy PCB rework across single-sided and multilayer PTH boards, using through-hole and SMT
  • Creating, maintaining and improving test procedures in collaboration with Design/Engineering
  • Reading and interpreting circuit schematics and understanding analogue/digital circuits of moderate complexity
  • Providing technical support and coaching to test/production teams when needed
  • Ensuring Health & Safety compliance, maintaining a clean and organised workspace, and keeping tools/jigs in good usable condition
  • Working with the department supervisor to provide clear technical feedback to suppliers/assembly teams, supporting a target of 90%+ “clean” PCB batches
Key Skills and Experience
  • Strong experience in electronics testing and diagnostics, with component-level fault-finding
  • Proven ability to rework PCBs to a high standard (TH + SMT; multilayer/PTH experience)
  • Comfortable reading circuit schematics and understanding circuit function
  • Excellent organisation and time management; able to manage workload and deadlines
  • Clear communicator who can share knowledge and support others
Hours & benefits
  • 8:30am-5:00pm, 37.5 hrs/week
