Job summary

Advance Grid Solutions Ltd is seeking a Pre-Construction Engineer (Electrical) to lead the technical pre-tender work for grid-connected energy projects. You will translate client requirements, drawings and specs into robust, deliverable scopes with clear interfaces to civil, electrical and commissioning teams.

The role sits between engineering, commercial and operations to reduce risk, tighten costings and ensure bid packages are accurate from day one.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum five years' experience in power, utilities, renewable energy, BESS, solar or HV infra projects.
• Strong understanding of HV and LV systems.
• Experience developing scopes or tender submissions.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specs and protection philosophies.
• Working knowledge of BS7671 and UK standards.
• NEC3/NEC4 contract understanding.
• Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Review Employer's Requirements, technical specs, drawings and grid connection docs.
• Identify compliance requirements, exclusions, assumptions and risks.
• Produce compliance and deviation schedules.
• Issue technical queries and manage responses during tender.
• Develop electrical scope definitions for HV, LV, protection and controls.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and support cost build-ups.
• Collaborate with commercial and estimating teams on pricing.
• Support value engineering and alternative solutions.
• Ensure tender submissions are technically accurate and deliverable.
