Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering team in the UK. The role focuses on electrical design across distribution, transmission, renewables, and T&D industries. You will develop EPC/ICP designs, perform grid studies, and ensure compliance with UK standards.

You will lead design resources, mentor colleagues, and contribute to tender pricing and supplier scoping. A strong background in DigSilent/PSCAD and CAD tools is required, along with a Bachelor’s

Qualifications

• Experience in ICP, electrical engineering, and electrical design.
• Knowledge of UK Grid Code, network operator standards, and UK design regulations.
• Proficiency with electrical system modelling software (DigSilent, PSCAD) and CAD software.
• Understanding of MS Project, Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage and resolve complex electrical design issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and manage development of EPC and ICP system designs from concept to detailed stage.
• Conduct grid studies and ensure compliance with grid codes and standards.
• Select components and ensure design packages meet specifications.
• Coordinate with civil design interfaces and resolve design issues.
• Mentor and supervise in-house designers and contractors.
• Support tendering with technical input and equipment specifications.
• Prepare scopes of work for subcontractors and assist tender evaluations.
