Job summary

Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Head of Grid & BESS Engineering for a leading renewable energy client. The role will oversee grid connections, power systems, and energy storage engineering across a growing UK portfolio of solar and battery storage assets.

You will act as the technical authority, drive engineering excellence, manage risks, and coordinate with developers, EPCs, asset management and regulators to secure grid connections and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years in grid integration or renewable energy.
• Strong UK grid code knowledge and network landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection strategy for UK projects.
• Oversee BESS engineering, EMS/SCADA, and system integration.
• Guide development, EPC, and operations teams on technical matters.
• Manage relationships with NESO, TOs and DNOs and ensure compliance.
