Job summary

EDF Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Technical Services and delivery engineering team. You will lead HV/LV plant projects, manage a small team, and coordinate with external specialists to deliver reliable, compliant power solutions across the UK.

The role requires strong leadership, project management, and a deep understanding of electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, and protection relays in renewables and power generation contexts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience with HV plant, transformers, switchgear, cables, and protection relays.
• Professional Engineer license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fault finding, testing and repair of HV systems and components (transformers, switchgear, cables).
• Lead engineering upgrades/projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide integrated HV solutions.
• Review maintenance reports to identify defects, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns to foster continuous learning.
• Manage project timelines and resources to deliver on schedule and within budget.
• Assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
