Job summary

EDF Power Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead HV/LV projects across multiple sites in the UK. You will oversee transformers, switchgear, cables, joints, and protection relays, guiding a small team and coordinating with cross-functional colleagues.

The role emphasises project delivery, technical leadership, and proactive problem-solving in renewable energy contexts such as wind, solar, and battery storage.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with HV experience.
• Experience with high voltage plant and equipment (transformers, switchgear, cables).
• Experience on wind, solar or battery storage projects is desirable.
• UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV engineering upgrades from concept through delivery.
• Collaborate with mechanical, SCADA and external specialists for integrated HV solutions.
• Review maintenance reports and identify defects and trends.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure on-time delivery.
• Travel across the UK to support projects as required.
