Job summary

EDF power solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Technical Services and delivery team. You will work with HV/LV plant including transformers, switchgear, cables, terminations, and protection relay testing, leading projects from concept to delivery.

We value experience in power generation, renewables, and strong project management; you will mentor a small team and liaise with stakeholders to ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and safe, reliable

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (HND/HNC acceptable).
• Several years of relevant engineering experience with high voltage plant and apparatus.
• PE license is a plus; strong knowledge of transformers, switchgear, cables, and protection relays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fault finding, testing and repair of HV electrical systems and components.
• Lead upgrades/projects from concept to delivery while ensuring compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide integrated HV solutions.
• Review reports to identify defects and trends for quality and safety.
• Manage and communicate findings with stakeholders to improve system reliability.
• Review and approve engineering specs; engage procurement for alternative parts and continuity of supply.
• Plan, prioritise and coordinate electrical resources with internal and external parties.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns; lead a small engineering team.
• Manage project timelines and budgets to deliver on schedule.
• Assist with RCA and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in HV engineering.
• Prepare and present reports to management and clients.
• Willingness to travel across the UK to support projects.
• Oversee relationships with external contractors and ensure safety and schedules.
