Job summary

EDF UK is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Technical Services team, covering sites across South England. You will work with HV/LV plant, transformers, switchgear, cables and protection relays on wind, solar and storage projects.

The role blends technical leadership and project management, with mentoring of junior engineers and coordination with external contractors. Travel across the UK is required to support projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience with high voltage plant and apparatus.
• PE license is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of transformers, switchgear, cables and protection relays.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and HV system methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a small team of engineers.
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fault finding, testing and repair of HV systems and components.
• Lead upgrades/projects from concept to delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide integrated HV solutions.
• Review maintenance reports to identify defects and trends.
• Manage stakeholder communications and ensure safety standards.
• Review and approve engineering specifications and design documents.
• Coordinate electrical resources with internal and external teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.
