Job summary

EDF Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Technical Services and delivery engineering team. The role centers on HV/LV plant, transformers, switchgear, cables, and protection relays, with leadership responsibility for small teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Ideal candidates have substantial HV experience, knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, including travel across the UK for on-site

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of engineering experience with HV plant and apparatus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards and HV system design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV/LV engineering upgrades and projects from concept to delivery.
• Review and approve engineering specifications and design documents; manage supply continuity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including external consultants and contractors.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns; drive continuous learning.
• Manage project timelines and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
• Travel across the UK to support projects as required.
