Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in London is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead delivery of electrical design across commercial, residential, education, leisure and mixed-use projects within a multidisciplinary building-services team.

You will drive concept through detailed design, coordinate with architects and other disciplines, mentor junior engineers and contribute to sustainable design solutions while maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Significant experience in MEP/building-services consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building-services design.
• Experience delivering projects through multiple design stages.
• Excellent communication with clients and design teams.
• Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced engineers.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of project constraints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, practical approach to solving engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design packages from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
• Design LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, power and related systems.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, developers and other disciplines.
• Attend design and client meetings as a technical point of contact.
• Review designs and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Help manage project programmes, budgets and deliverables.
• Support development of junior/intermediate team members.
• Contribute to sustainable, energy-efficient design solutions.
• Use CAD/BIM tools for design and coordination.
