Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd, a specialist building services consultancy, seeks an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in Surrey. You will contribute to electrical designs across commercial and residential projects, focusing on energy-efficient and low-carbon solutions.

The role involves delivering designs from concept to construction, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring compliance with UK standards.

Qualifications

A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
Experience in a building services consultancy or similar environment.
Practical experience producing electrical building services designs.
Good knowledge of UK standards and industry guidance.
Experience with design calculations and documentation.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
Good communication and collaborative skills.
Proactive problem-solving and interest in sustainable design.
Progress towards Chartered status is a plus.

Responsibilities

Produce electrical designs and calculations from concept through detailed design.
Prepare drawings, specifications, schedules and technical reports.
Work on electrical services including power, lighting, data and communications.
Support energy-efficient and low-carbon electrical solutions.
Coordinate designs with other disciplines.
Attend meetings and provide technical input.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and project team members.
Support projects through construction and site inspections.
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and guidance.
Contribute to design reviews and process improvement.
