Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the Transmission & Distribution team in the UK. You will develop MV and LV designs, ensure compliance with DNO standards and contribute to project delivery across energy and infrastructure sectors.

You will work in a hybrid model with colleagues across projects, delivering design solutions, coordinating with clients, and supporting procurement and testing activities. Strong collaboration and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of British and DNO design standards.
• Experience in a design office and/or construction environment within the Energy/Power sector.
• Ability to work with internal and external parties in a collaborative culture.
• Experience in writing clear and concise documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Medium Voltage and Low Voltage design work to DNO standards.
• Provide open and closed ring and radial feeder supply network solutions.
• Conduct intake and distribution substation layout design (MV/LV).
• Produce secondary protection and control solution diagrams.
• Liaise with external suppliers and clients and support with equipment procurement.
