Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution team in the UK. You’ll lead MV/LV design tasks, develop feeder networks, substation layouts, and provide protection and control solutions across private, industrial, and renewables projects.

The role offers a hybrid working model, collaboration with internal and external partners, and opportunities to influence design governance and project outcomes across the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of British and DNO specific design standards.
• Experience in energy/power sector design office or construction environments.
• Ability to work with internal and external parties and within a collaborative culture.
• Experience in writing clear and concise documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MV and LV design to DNO standards.
• Provide Open and Closed Ring and Radial Feeder supply network solutions.
• Carry out intake and distribution substation layout design (MV/LV).
• Conduct primary plant and equipment design works (MV/LV).
• Produce secondary protection and control solution diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Conduct cable sizing, routing, and termination drawings (MV/LV).
• Liaise with external suppliers and clients and support with system studies.
