Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to design large industrial facilities in the UK, including power station buildings and large manufacturing sites. The role involves leading EC&I teams, coordinating project delivery, and delivering electrical building services with HV/LV distribution design.

The position supports hybrid work with 1-2 days in Glasgow or Reading, with occasional site visits. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of the electrical engineering discipline.
• Experience in design of HV/LV distribution systems and associated control and protection systems.
• Experience in LV cable sizing and design and using Amtech cable sizing software.
• Experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience in a contracting environment with relevant site experience.
• Willing to travel if required.

Responsibilities

• Performs the assessment and design and monitors ongoing process of a project, including the coordination of the project with project delivery team.
• Leads/works with EC&I engineers/designers in developing engineering deliverables across stages of the project.
• Prepares drawings, functional and technical specifications, and contract documents.
• Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial applications.
• Interfaces and coordinates with Safety Case and System Engineering teams.
• Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.
• Maintains effective communication with clients, project team members and project delivery team.
• Responsible for authoring/reviewing/checking on technical deliverables.
