Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in the UK & Ireland to lead HV substation design, FEED and detailed design activities across major infrastructure projects. You’ll work within a hybrid model and collaborate with clients and partners to deliver optimum electrical solutions.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, extensive HV experience, and proven ability to manage multi-discipline teams and project development from concept through tender.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience with consultancy, contractor or utility in energy sector.
• Client experience with transmission utilities in UK or Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations.
• Lead engineering design input to major infrastructure projects.
• Develop cable route options considering length, thermal conditions and land use.
• Prepare HV plant equipment specifications.
