Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Energy business in the United Kingdom. You will deliver electrical engineering solutions across bid, concept, detailed design, installation and commissioning phases for nuclear, renewables and high-energy industrial projects.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree (MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc) in Electrical Engineering, Chartered status or near-chartered, and substantial HV systems knowledge (11kV-400kV).

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent required; MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc accepted.
• Chartered Engineer status or near-chartered encouraged and supported.
• Knowledge of HV systems (11kV, 20 kV, transformers, switchgear) and grid interfaces.
• Experience with safety-critical I&C systems design lifecycle and regulatory considerations.
• Ability to lead technical deliverables and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Electrical designs across the full project lifecycle from bid to commissioning.
• Prepare technical documentation and design justifications for safety-critical systems.
• Support requirements capture and systems engineering for new architectures.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices in nuclear/EC&I environments.
• Interface with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders on technical matters.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
• Produce high-quality technical reports and build client relationships.
