Job summary

AECOM is hiring a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for Distribution in Manchester. The role focuses on designing MV/LV networks to DNO standards, substations, protection schemes, and integration with SCADA and auxiliary systems.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary Transmission & Distribution team on diverse energy projects. The position offers hybrid working options, career development opportunities, and access to AECOM University.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Electrical Engineering with relevant design background.
• Familiarity with British and DNO design standards and practice.
• Experience in energy/power sector design environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MV and LV design work to DNO standards.
• Provide ring/feeder network design solutions (Open/Closed Ring, Radial).
• Design intake and distribution substations (MV/LV).
• Develop primary plant and equipment designs (MV/LV).
• Produce protection/control schematics and diagrams.
